Real time converstion of HD/SD-SDI to ASI

In digital video broadcast it is common for programs to originate as an SDI signal. These signals can be either HD-SDI or SD-SDI. Uncompressed video is useful in the beginning of a broadcast system, but uses far too much bandwidth for large scale broadcast. DVB-ASI is a very useful signal protocol that carries compressed video streams in the form of MPEG-2 or MPEG-4. The CL-4100 HD encoder Converts HD-SDI (SMPTE292M) or SD SDI (SMPTE259M) from uncompressed video and audio to MPEG-2 DVB-ASI, using 4:2:2 MPEG2 CODEC for compression. High quality MPEG2 video and up to eight-channels of embedded audio are available on the ASI BNC port in real time. Uncompressed HD-SDI inputs are compressed to ASI (MPEG2 TS) with programmable bit-rates from 11 to 40 Mb/s. For applications requiring MPEG-4 streams, we also offer the CL4200, which encodes the stream under the MPEG4 H.264 codec instead.
